Laser is a modality used at KAH to aid in healing and pain control. This therapy is noninvasive for your pet and most patients seem to enjoy the treatment. It takes about 10 minutes for the laser therapy treatment and human family members are encouraged to be present.

Digital X-rays are an effective way of imaging the inside of your pet’s body. X-rays can evaluate the entire pet including soft tissue (organs) and bones. As these x-rays are digital, they can also be sent to and reviewed by veterinary radiologists for complicated cases.

Ultrasound is another useful diagnostic imaging tool. It also allows for visualization of the architecture of organs of the body and aids in diagnosing complex cases. Both ultrasound and digital x-rays are non-invasive testing options.

Our pets cannot speak for themselves and laboratory work can give us a better picture as to how our four legged family members are feeling on the inside.

Kokopelli Animal Hospital has advanced in house lab capabilities. Blood samples can be obtained to evaluate blood chemistry values, CBC, thyroid, heartworm, Felv/FIV testing and coagulation times to name a few. We can also evaluate urine, stool, tissue and other samples in our in house lab.

These in house samples are available the same day, usually within minutes or hours, and allow for rapid diagnosis and treatment. KAH also utilizes an outside referral laboratory for more specialized testing such as cultures, biopsies, etc.

A wide variety of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical services are performed at KAH. We have a designated surgery suite, which allows for a sterile and controlled surgery environment.

Patient comfort and safety are of utmost concern during any surgical procedure. Advanced anesthetic and pain protocols are utilized for all surgical patients. Anesthetic monitoring is also performed to check patient parameters such as body temp, blood pressure, oxygen levels, heart rate etc.

Significant disease can be found in a pet’s mouth both on the teeth and beneath the gum line. Dirty teeth harbor bacteria, which can affect the overall health of a pet as well as affect their quality of life.

The doctors and staff at KAH have undergone additional training with a veterinary dental specialist to offer advanced dental care.   These services include prophylactic dental cleaning and extraction techniques. Periodontal treatments and bonded sealants can also be utilized to help save teeth when appropriate.

Digital dental x-rays are offered to visualize disease that occurs beneath the gum line. X-rays help determine the extent of dental disease and treatment options.
